A running toilet, leaking faucet or failed fixture needs the right parts and a clear repair boundary.
Describe the fixture without dismantling it
Note the fixture, visible brand or model and whether water leaks during use or while idle. Identify any accessible isolation valve without forcing it. Photograph the fixture if safe. Keep a shared-building owner informed where shutting off water could affect other occupants.
Ask whether parts or replacement are proposed
Confirm which component appears to be failing and what evidence supports replacing it. Ask whether you or the business supplies the fixture and what happens if concealed connections do not fit. A fixture price and an installed price can include different work.
Agree on testing and surrounding finishes
Ask how leakage, secure attachment and normal operation will be checked. Clarify whether the scope includes sealants, supply connections, disposal and restoration of surrounding surfaces. Keep changes to the original proposal explicit before additional work begins.
Questions before authorizing work
- What does the assessment include and cost?
- Which findings support the proposed work?
- What is excluded, and how will changes be approved?
- How will the completed work be checked?
